Hit Boxes
From IKwiki
Warrior models or solos that are not warcasters should have Hit boxes between 5, 8, 10 or even 12. A Warcaster should have at least 13 hit boxes and no more than 25 if really nessasary.
A mounted dragoon model should double its HP again. (Eg: A Drakun doubles from 10 to 20. A lighter Dragoon Model (for example a mounted gun mage) should double from 5 or 8. To 10 or 16 when fully mounted.
When determining how much HP a character can have it should be easy enough to allocate him according to his or her physical appearance in addition to any armor or bulk it may have.
For example, Eiryss, First Mate Hawk and Rupert Covolo all have 5hp, they are all phsyically fit characters and solos that cost between 20 and 30 points. A Stormsmith only has one HP like a regular warrior model but is very cheap, not a character and is balanced to be reasonably simple to eliminate. Models like the Kovnik and Drakun must be in peak physical condition and there size grants them more than bonus armor that should be translated into a increased hitpoint amount.
Use common sense when determing how many Hit boxes your models should have and avoid oddball numbers and combinations. Instead, try and use rules and abilites that make a model more tactical or entertaining to play, one of the greastest aspects of this game is the malleablity of its rules system and that can be used to create some rather interesting combinations:
eg:
- Flawed Design- Any time an Exemplar Aegis rolls doubles while making an attack roll he suffers d6 damage after the attack is resolved.
This rule balances out the rather cheap points cost value of a rather powerful unit by incorporating a differnt manner in which to balance its HP.
