Description
Imperial Kommando's, Khador Assault Kommando Unit
During 607AR, when news of the northern crusade reached the ears of hopeful revolutionaries in Merywyn, a sudden surge in rebellious activities saw the streets of the former capital transformed into a battlezone. Llaese patriots took advantage of the uncertainty and took to the streets brandishing rifles and weaponry, they formed a large armed mob and barricaded the both the barracks and the former Prime Ministers residency. For two days the city was filled with the sound of gunshots and vandalism as the riots intensified and the rebels gathered to the city as the occupying army was uncertain how to deal with the riots.
On the third day, at the height of a demonstration in the large town square, a political aggitator who was in the midst of a heated speech in protest of the Khadoran occupation was fired upon and killed with from a series of shots fired from a nearby squad of Khadoran troopers. The stunned crowd turned to see the streets behind them blocked end to end by a wall of soldiers dressed in immaculate red and black armor with a viscious army sabre sheathed at there wastes and a fine miliary rifle drawn. The Imperial Kommando's had arrived.
Formerly a unit dedicated to the defence of Khadors vital military installations and royal family, the Imperial Kommandos are also known as the First Khardovir Kommando's Unit. The Emperess Ayn Vanar has expanded the numbers of her former bodyguards with war heros and dedicated soldiers selected from the boarder legions and sent to Korsk for advanced training and indoctrination. The Imperial Kommando's have had a short but bloody history within the ranks of Khador. Exposed and trained in almost every aspect of warfare, the Imperial Kommandos have been unleashed on southern battlefields as a new powerful arm of the Khadoran Military warmachine. The units have a fearsome reputation for executing both the incompetent and cowardly and they complete there duties with ruthless precison and skill. There enemies have likened these troops to cold hearted killers. Like a marching execution squad they eliminate opposition in an almost casual manner, before the comb the battlefields with there combat swords drawn to coup de grace any who survive.
The citizenry of Merywyn were treated to this brutal slaughter as the Kommando's began there onslaught. Marching into the square, the untrained masses were too slow to draw there weapons and paniced, dozens were gunned down before they could even return fire. The paniced men and women fled as news of the massacre spread, many lay down there arms and returned to there homes. Others tried a futile attempt at resistance, neigbourhoods where anti-Khadoran sentiment was strongest turned into localised battlegrounds, the Imperial Kommando's swept into house of after house, clearing each street and butchered the families of any who openly resisted. The last thing that many rebels saw was the black faceless masks of the Kommando's peering down upon them, moments before there execution. On the fourth day of the riots, the captured were gathered outside the dig mass graves for those excuted in the riots.
Those same Kommando's now fight on the southern front against Cygnar and the eastern boarders against the Protectorates more recent crusade. There ranks are beginning to grow as the patriotic and brave, come to join them.
Special Rules
LEADER AND GRUNTS
- Alchemical Mask - As MKii Alchemical Masks (See Khador Assault Kommandos)
- Enforcers - Faction units within 6" of a model in this unit may reroll failed command checks.
- Firing Squad (Order) - Models in this unit gain the aiming bonus even if they advance this turn if they end there movement in base to base with a model in their unit.
- Hunker - A model with Hunker may forfeit movement or action during its activation to gain +2 ARM for one round. A model that forfeits its movement still gains the aiming bonus.
Concept Notes
Cross between Winterguard and Assault Kommando's. A mixed role combat unit. The unit is great at slaying infantry with its Firing Squad order it mops up enemies in open ground with its military rifles very quickly but flounders against warjacks, heavy trooper or beasts.
