Description
RACHEL ROKEBY, MERCENARY WARCASTER CHARACTER
Originally from Cygnar, Rachel is a refugee who now lives in Ord, selling her skills and battlegroup to those who would fight the Cryx. Her home village was ransacked by Cryxian pirates, who killed her journeyman husband. One of her husband's Charger warjacks was knocked into a nearby building and as Rachel fled, it came to her aid. Her arcane ability was unlocked and she directed the Charger to protect her and the people with her. She was able to escape the fighting, but the majority of the villagers following her lead were attacked and forced to take refuge in the local Morrowan chapel, while the Charger protected them. Predictably, the 'jack was destroyed and the chapel burned to the ground. Rachel's journey to Ord was a long one, but she was able to survive with help from farmers and a small group of anti-Cryxian vigilantes.
Once in Ord, she found anyone with warcaster skills, including some of the most famous privateer warcasters like Shae and Broadside Bart, and begged them to learn those skills. Over time she was able to replace the Charger with other 'jacks that she begged, borrowed or stole. Her skill with 'jacks increased, but at the same time she learned the arts of handcannon and rapier. Her skills are many and varied; she is truly a jack of all trades and yet master of none.
The culmination of her training with the rapier was a lesson from Ysaran Errissyn, an Iosan swordsman, who, in recognition of her accomplishments, gave her a rapier engraved with runes that spelt the name 'Mystyss'. It is an ancient weapon that has been handed from master to worthy student over a period of thousands of years.
The loss of her husband has burned a deep hatred of the Lord Toruk and his plans into her soul and this motivates her mercenary activities. She avoids working with Cygnaran forces, but will easily work for the other privateers, Ord or even Khador's meagre navy.
Special Rules
RACHEL ROKEBY
- Mercenary - Rachel will not work for Cryx
- One-on-One - When engaged with a single model in melee, Rachel gains an additional d6 to melee attack rolls
- Riposte - When hit with a melee attack, after determining damage, Rachel may make a single melee attack against her attacker
- True Sight - Rachel ignores the effects of Stealth, Camoflauge, clouds, concealment and Invisibility.
MYSTYSS
- Critical Wounds - On a critical hit, Mystyss causes Wounds, a continuous effect that causes a POW 12 damage roll in the target model's maintenance phase. This effect expires on a role of 1, 2 or 3
Feat
- Give 'Em Hell!
In the heat of battle, Rachel can inspire her troops and 'jacks to give 120%, rallying them at just the right time to turn the tide of the battle, and then clean up the remaining troops as they flee. For the next round, each friendly model/unit in Rachel's control area gains +3 MAT and STR and may make an additional free strike (to a maximum of two) against any eligible targets.

Concept Notes
This is Athan Rokeby's lost wife. Her skills and abilities are a hodge-podge to represent her odd-ball training. I wanted her to have a privateer-cum-duelist flavour, and I think that's been achieved.
