Description
Swamp Krocodon, Krocodilian Heavy WarbeastOld-timers in outlying regions of the Iron Kingdoms have beening spinning tall tales about a race a massive humanoid reptilian monsters, the Krocodilians, since time out of mind. Perhaps the most far-fetched of these tales are those involving a terrifying beast known as the Swamp Krocodon. Talespinners claim these beasts are the size of a Khadoran heavy warjack and every bit as strong. Bloody stories of villages decimated, caravans devoured, and forestgoers gobbled up often have a Krocodon at their heart.
Recently these legends have been proven true. Something has awakened the ancient race of Krocodilians and they seem intent on punishing those who would disturb them. Swamp Krocodons and other massive reptilian creatures have been spotted throughout the Iron Kingdoms, often in what appears to be war parties. Scholars speculate that the coming of the the Skorne and Blighted Legion, together with Khadoran and Cryxian activities, has convinced the Krocodilians that they can no longer exist undisturbed in the shadows. They must fight to defend what is theirs...

Animus

Special Rules
WARBEAST
- Amphibious- the Krocodon ignores movement penalties and damaging effects from water. The Krocodon may charge across water. The Krocodon's DEF is not reduced by deep water.
- Critical Deathroll- On a critical hitthe Krocodon's Cavernous Maw attack causes an additional d6 damage and target is knocked down.
- Minion- The Swamp Krocodon will not work for the Legion or the Skorne.
Weapon
- Thick Hide- Roll a d6 for each attack taht causes damage to the Krocodon. On a 5 or 6 reduce damage by 1. Damage may not be reduced to less than 1 point.
Creator's Notes
I envision the Swamp Krocodon as the biggest nasty beast in my Krocodilian faction. I want him to be on par with the Dire Troll / Carnivean. He needs to be able to go toe-to-toe with those guys and come out on top 50% of the time. As I've not yet used him in a game (see below) I have no idea if he fits the bill or not.
For now I've left him as a Minion. He'll stay that way until I've got time to come up with other beasties for my faction.
Playtesting Notes
We'll be doing the initial playtesting for this guy at Origins '06. My feeling is that the animus will prove too situational for its cost (a hefty 3 fury). Please feel free to leave your findings and observations here! Minidragon 20:06, 23 June 2006 (CEST)
