Hey, very complete caster. Good rule set and stuff. Nothing really to comment on, buffs and abilities are staple with a really Stryker feel to him.

Irdion

I find myself mostly agreeing with UB. He seems a lot better conceptually than Rachel, and has a defined role that you can build an army around.

Couple minor bits are bothering me though:

1) Feat. His Feat seems like something that could be made into a spell. It just isn't quite powerful enough to warrant Feat status. A cool idea could be turning his control area into a sanctuary, with models inside the radius becoming unable to target.

2) Two of his spells. Given that he is a divine caster, Arcane Bolt and Deadeye (True Strike) don;t make much sense on his spell list. For one spell I recommend using his Feat as it is now, and the other something like:

|Spell Name = Condemnation |Cost = 2 |Range = 12 |POW = 12 |AOE = - |UP = - |OFF = X |Description= A searing bolt burns away the impurities of the soul.

3) For a small-based model, Rokeby shouldn't be able to use his shield as a weapon. Only models larger than small ever show the ability to use shields as weaponry. However, for a caster as heavily kitted out as Rokeby is, it seems like the Morrowmace could use a little enhancement.

Thanks for the responses, guys. The feat as written is very situation, which is not good. The sanctuary idea is cool, but perhaps "friendly models in CTRL cannot be targetted by melee attacks for one round," or something similar? The other thought I'd had was to make it similar to the Cleric of Morrow's Blinding Radiance *Action. "Enemy models in Athan's CTRL suffer blindness for one round. Blind models cannot make ranged or magic attacks, suffer -4 MAT and DEF, cannot run, charge or slam, and must forfeit their movement or action next activation."

I also took into account some of the discussion on the PP forums, and some of Irdion's suggestions here, like the changes to Arcane Bolt (to Wrath of the Prophet, and POW 12). Arcane Bolt and Dead-eye were originally there to provide a backstory link to his time as a warcaster, especially for Arcane Bolt. But forsaking the arcanist's ways for the divinist's must have paid off!

Uncle Biggins

Agreed, he looks very well round off now with most of his abilities round off nicely. I agree that the shield atk should prob be removed but if you want it to add some feeling to the model perhaps put an ability on it like repulsion or give him guard maybe?

Cilionelle

I actually really like the fact that he can use his shield as a weapon and I'm going to keep it in. He only gets one attack and since the majority of his spells and abilities are so situational, I don't think there's any harm in giving him the privilege of being the first small-based model to get a shield attack! The Blinding Radiance feat is still something I'm considering. Any further thoughts?

Uncle Biggins

Hey Cilionelle. Who were you at Gencon Oz? Anyway, good to see you had some playtesting and fun with your caster. Fair enough keeping the shield its your model and while different than the norm so all warcasters should be. Anyway, onto your feat as is its a toned down and altered version of Strykers. Thats not terrible but if you are looking for something different you probaly have a few choices.

Radiance feat: Enemy models currently within Athans LOS and ctrl area immediately change their facing so that he is no longer within LOS if possible. (inspired by Angorn Brightblade a incomplete entry that had a promising start)

Might of Markus: Friendly Cygnar models in Athans control area gain tough and cannot be moved except by their controller for one round. (similar to your own feat but I actually like your current one.)

Morrowan Ward: Friendly cygnar models within Athans control area gain +4 DEF against magic attacks and attacks made by these models may damage models that may only be damaged by magic attaacks. (defenive and offesnive buff, adds resilence against magic attacks and gives you new offensive options.)

Well thats all my input.

Cilionelle

Hey Biggins, I was the guy who took out Mage Hunter. I finally received the parts order I put in, so am reviewing the mini and his rules. Not sure any more about the feat... Might of Markus seems like a spell, only bigger, as does Morrowan Ward. I want something big, as a feat should be. Like the Blinding Radiance, which is particularly defensive, but opens up some last minute options.
