Talk:Tybrind

From IKwiki

thumbs up from UB like him entirely but maybe a rename of some spells is in order. also how does this sound for Riddle of Steel.

RNG 10 POW 12 target model hit loses benifical modifiers to there ARM and have there ARM reduced to 18 if higher.

just popped into my head like it. It would make a good replacement because the current spell is a bit weak and situational for Tybrind lots of casters dont even rely on camping, also its one of nessasity as Tybrind cant even kill a ghost yet.

5/5/08 - Nice write-up. I think that the 85pts cost is too small, for a 6 fury caster and free solo. It needs to be about 95 or so. The abilities are flavourful and awesome, but too much for the points. That's my two cents, and I haven't (yet) playtested him. Cheers! - Cilionelle

Just wanted to say two things before I do a 'proper' writeup on Tybrind. The Wilding isn't like the Warcaster talent. You are born with it, and it manifests early. It's why the Blackclads have a reputation as being child theives. Spontaneous manifestation doesn't really happen. Secondly, romantic trysts are best alluded to (Sorscha/Vlad) rather than outright stated. But thats just me being stuffy.

A few things seem, for lack of a better word, off in your creation. It seems you added a bunch of variations on standard rules when they weren't really needed. I also think that, being a warlock and a very powerful solo, you need to move the point cost a little higher.

Just use Riposte instead of Riposte Master. Ashlynn is going to be better than Tybrind at dueling in all fairness.

For Braggart, take a look at Captain Finn from Cygnar to get an idea of how it should be worded. The way you have this written is a little confusing as well. If you roll an additional die, you add this to the total. Better would be to roll three and choose two. (I should also mention you described Tybrind as aloof, so it doesn;t make sense for him to be outright trying to impress his ladygriend)

For Vengeful rage, remove the 360 melee arc thing. Everything else is solid though.

For your Cohort, wouldn't Wolves of Orboros be a better choice? Give the Reeves Cohort to Dreggs.

For Eulogy, drop the crazy Flamberge rule you've written entirely. Just give him Parry or something simpler. Flamberge just makes my skull hurt to look at.

The Feat is cool. Great idea there.

Faoir's Requiem is likewise cool.

Way of the Wolf is confusing. Why not just mark a target as Prey (Tharn Bloodtrackers)? That's something like the same effect with much simpler wording.

Nor'wester needs to lose the CMD check line, its just clunky. Just make it -2 to ranged attack rolls. Likewise, I don't think this warrants a 4 FOC cost. 3 seems better to me.

Prepare for Glory needs its focus cost bumped by 1 (especially with the Pureblood now availible). Other than that, its fine.

Dreggs:

Her damage either needs to fall by 2 or rise by 1. I'd personally go with 5 damage, as she isn't a heavily armored individual.

Run 'n Gun is a cool idea. To avoid confusion, why not go with the D&D Feat name of Shot on the Run?

For Hunter, Why not just substitute Crack Shot/True Shot?

Cover Me would be better if it were entirely swapped out for Master Holt's rules concerning firing into a melee with Aiyana. The Job and Virtuoso could be combined into a single rule methinks.

Soulmate needs to drop the once per game thing. Just state that if Tybrind dies, she leaves play as well.

Barrage needs work. Chain attacks always use identical weapons. Maybe have this only use Tooth? Pin the target or soemthing?

Claw needs to lose Disruptor Bolt entirely. Find something else. If you have variable ammo, you need at least two types (normally 3) Change Pistol Whip to an (*Attack). Other than that it looks pretty cool.

A few things to bring it into line, and make everything simpler and more fluid in play. Normally PP rules tend to be the best things to use for simplicities sake, although a few new things per model doesn't hurt. It's just right now you have an incredible amount of new rules on two models.
