Description

Ungoleant, The Elder, Circle Unique Heavy Warbeast

"In the darkest places of the world, an ancient evil resides, a spawn of the Wurm. It feeds on the hopes of mankind and revels in despair. It has no mortal name, and because of His attnetion that it hasn't descended upon us yet."- The Holy Book of Morrow

Ungoleant is the last of its kind, but it is by far, the greatest. Very little is known about the massive spider except that it has existed since the time of the Molgur and called by Wurm priests to wreck havoc on the priest kings of Menoth. When the last and greatest of the Shamans died, Ungoleant retreated from the knowledge of mankind, and hibernated for thousands of years. When Phaelice passed through the Northern Thornwood, she happened upon a massive underground cave. She wandered inside with her horde of spiders to find thousands upon thousands of massive webs and webbing strands. After venturing to the inner chamber, she found the slumbering spider. After a terrifying moment of unsurity, the Massive Spider gave itself to Phaelice, and it became the leader of her Horde. Ungoleant had never seen a warlock such of Phaelice before, and was promised a feast like no other, one that would fill even it, which had never completly known satisfaction. Ungoleant is a massive black spider with a dark purple hourglass on its abdomen. It differs from its lesser kin in that it shows a sign of intelligence and vicious cunning beyond its red eyes. It also uses two different kinds of venoms when hunting, a more powerful, but shorter venom that comes from its fangs, and a similar venom to the duskweb spider that comes out of its stinger. The other Druids are scared of the Elder Spawn and use it only reluctantly. Many of the druids find that it is a struggle of will to keep the best from attacking their own forces. The only person whom the beast trusts with absolute certainty is Phaelice, and she exploits this over the other druids. Ungoleant doesn't care about these politics. It only cares about its feast. The Enitre world is its prey and it shall consume all.

Special Rules

Ungoleant

  • Affinity-Phaelice - Ungoleant never attacks Phaelice while frenzying. While in Phaelice's CNTRL area, the range for Ancestral Dominance increases by 2". Phaelice is immune to eldervenom, and doesn't need to make a CMD check for wurmspawn.
  • All terrain
  • Ancestral Dominance- Friendly Duskweb and dawnweb spiders completly within 8" of Ungoleant may charge without spending a fury point at SPD +5" whenever Ungoleant runs, performs a charge, or power attack. Duskweb and Dawnweb spiders never attack Ungoleant when they frenzy.

Camouflage

  • Duskweb- Ungoleant may use the duskweb spider's animi if it is within 6" of Ungoleant
  • Wurm Spawn- At the beginning of Ungoleant's activation, make a CMD check using his controlling warlock's CMD. The warlock that is closer to Ungoleant must makle this check. A warlock may spend a fury point to reroll this failed CMD check. If it succeeds, Ungoleant activates normally. If it fails, Ungoleant frenzies. If Ungoleant already frenzied this turn, then Wurm Spawn does not activate this turn.

Fangs

  • Critical Eldervenom- On a succesful critical hit with fangs against a living model, that model suffers Eldervenom. Eldervenom causes its target to become stationary and suffer -2 STR.

Stinger

  • Duskvenom-Target living model hit by the stinger suffers duskvenom. Duskvenom causes the target model to become stationary. Duskvenom lasts for one round.
  • Stinger- Don't add Ungoleant's STR to the stinger damage roll. Stinger attacks may only damage warrior models, but may still target other models, unless if the model has a special rule preventing it from being targeted.

Webbing

  • Web- target model hit by Webbing takes no damage, but must forfeit its movement for one round.

Animus

Spell Cost Range POW AOE UP OFF
Cruel Feast 2 Self -
Immediatley after destroying an enemy warrior model or living warbeast with a melee attack, the model using this animus moves up to 2", ignoring freestrikes. Cruel Feast lasts for one round.
